As the legend goes, the Mandarin Duck Revolving Flagon is an amazing wine set capable of pouring two different kinds of wine out of a single flagon. Its inventor and date of creation remain unknown as dynasties in and out while everybody believes that it is a rare treasure beyond touch. It is said that Mandarin Duck Revolving Flagon was first seen in the Han Dynasty (202 B.C – 220 AD). In a scramble for power after the death of Emperor Huidi of the Han Dynasty, Queen Zhang, mother of the young Emperor Liugong, died abruptly after drinking the wine poured out of a Mandarin Duck Revolving Flagon which may had contained two different wines, one poisonous and the other innocuous, in a royal banquet, since which the mysterious flagon had vaporized in the world. To give such rare treasure of an artwork a rebirth, Tang Benmao, a hereditary porcelain talent, took great pains in hundreds of experiments in ten years of hard work till he finally succeeded in 1987. As an integration of both traditional crafts and modern art, the Mandarin Duck Revolving Flagon is a treasure for appreciation, collection and special application. Its golden surface processed by vacuum ion plating equipment is brilliant, glorious and magnificent. Products of its fifth version are capable of greeting guests in Chinese, Japanese, English and play electronic melodious tune while the wine is being poured out. Products of the sixth version, those of the “Ancient Tripod Style”, are distinct in shape with a primitive air of antiquity.
